⚡ The Calls, explained
On the Pulse you call what the match does next, five minutes at a time. Here is every call, in plain words. And remember: a goal always counts as a shot on target too, so one strike can win two calls.
The ball fully crosses the goal line between the posts, scored by either team. If the referee or VAR cancels it, it never counts and never pays.
The ball goes out behind the goal line, last touched by a defender. The assistant referee signals it and the attacking team gets a corner kick.
The referee shows a yellow card for a foul, a dive or a protest — any yellow, any team, it counts. A second yellow to the same player counts too (and also fires RED CARD).
The referee sends a player off — a straight red or a second yellow, any team, it counts. On a second yellow, both YELLOW CARD and RED CARD fire.
The referee points to the penalty spot after a foul or a handball inside the box. The AWARD is the event, scored or missed is the next story.
A shot heading into the goal: either the keeper has to stop it, or it goes in. A shot over the bar counts for nothing.
The goalkeeper stops a shot that was going in. The same duel as a shot on target, seen from the keeper’s gloves.
The assistant referee raises the flag: an attacker was standing closer to the goal than the last defender when the pass was played. Play stops.
The ball beats everyone, keeper included, but smacks the post or the crossbar and stays out. Closest miss there is.
The quiet window: none of the offered events occurs during these five minutes. Sometimes the sharpest read of all.
Each amount (1, 5, 10, 50 or 100 USDC) is its own pool, window by window. When a window settles, 89.5% of the pool goes back to the winning calls, every winning type together: each winning call first gets its stake back, and the rest is split in proportion to stake weighted by how rare each call type was at lock — the rarer your call, the bigger your share; the platform keeps a fixed 10.5%. A winning call never pays back less than its stake. If no call holds a winning type, the pool is not paid out. A window cancelled by the platform (final whistle cut, or a window that cannot be confirmed by the live data within 30 minutes of its close) is refunded in full; a window confirmed late shows settling, then pays in full.

What can you actually call on the Pulse?
Every five minutes you call what happens next in the real match: a goal, a corner, a card, a penalty, a shot on target, a save, an offside, the woodwork, or "nothing happens". Each call is explained in one line at the top of this page. Worth knowing: a goal always counts as a shot on target too, so one strike can win two different calls at once.
When can a call be refunded?
Only when the PLATFORM cancels a window: the final whistle cuts it short, the match is abandoned, or the window cannot be confirmed by the live data within 30 minutes of its close. In that case every call of the window comes back in full, platform share included. A window whose events are confirmed late is not cancelled: it shows settling, then pays in full once confirmed. One more case: the last window of a half (money time) closes at the referee's whistle; if the live data never delivers that whistle, the window is refunded in full three hours after it opened. Pool balance never triggers a refund on the Pulse: a placed call stands, win or lose.
What does access cost?
Creating an account is free. Your calls themselves are yours: from 1 USDC per call, and 89.5% of every Prize Pool goes back to users — the platform keeps a fixed, disclosed 10.5% of each pool.
What is the minimum and the floor?
Minimum call is 1 USDC. A winning call never pays back less than its stake: in the rare round where the pool alone cannot return every winning stake, the platform completes real-money winners to ×1.0 out of its own share.
When do calls close?
Each five-minute round sells while the previous one runs and locks about 5 seconds before it begins — the board counts it down (CALLS CLOSE IN), server-enforced. The Golden Minute locks 90 seconds before kickoff. After a lock nothing enters, nothing edits, nothing withdraws.

What is PredictArena?

Is PredictArena legal in my country?
PredictArena operates as a skill based prediction product. Users make their own predictions; there is no platform edge, no platform-set multiplier, and no platform side outcome manipulation. Users are solely responsible for verifying compliance with local laws before participating. Our Terms of Service and AUP define jurisdictional exclusions.
Is PredictArena available on mobile?
Yes. PredictArena is fully mobile optimized and installable as a Progressive Web App (PWA) directly from your browser. No app store download is required. The entire flow, from match selection to call to deposit, is designed mobile first for 390px screens.
What currency does PredictArena use?
Calls are accounted in USDC on the Base network. Deposits are credited from verified Circle or on-chain evidence, and withdrawals are sent on Base to the wallet address you provide.
How do I deposit funds?
Go to the deposit page after logging in. Card funding uses Onramper and wallet funding uses your unique Circle Developer-Controlled Wallet address on Base. Send USDC only on Base; PA credits your balance from verified Circle or on-chain evidence.
What is The Pulse?
The Pulse is PredictArena's live in-match arena. Every five minutes, the match asks a question: what happens next — goal, corner, shot on target… or nothing? You make Calls on the events you expect in the NEXT five-minute round, and every winning Call shares that round's Prize Pool. You against the match.
How are Pulse rounds settled?
89.5% of each market's stakes form the round's Prize Pool — the platform share is a fixed, disclosed 10.5%. ALL winning Calls, every winning type together, share the whole pool: each winning Call first gets its stake back, and the rest is split in proportion to stake weighted by how rare each Call Type was at lock — the rarer your Call, the bigger your share — and a winning Call never pays back less than its stake. If no Call wins, the pool is not paid out. Settlement follows the official data feed's timestamps; a round cut by the final whistle is cancelled and refunded in full, and a round whose events are confirmed late shows settling and pays in full once confirmed.
How is the Prize Pool split? The rarity formula
In three disclosed steps. (1) STAKE BACK: whenever the Prize Pool covers it, every winning Call first receives its stake back. (2) RARITY WEIGHT: the rest of the pool — the surplus — is shared among winning Calls in proportion to stake × weight, where weight = 1 divided by that Call Type's locked chance (the % shown on its tile when the round locked), capped at 20. A GOAL Call locked at 20% carries weight 5; a CORNER Call locked at 50% carries weight 2 — the rarer your Call, the bigger your share. (3) FLOOR: a winning Call never pays back less than its stake; in the rare round where the pool alone cannot return every winning stake, the platform completes real-money winners to ×1.0 out of its own share. The +$2 Boost joins the pool the moment 2 or more distinct users win with real money. Worked example on a $1 market: 20 Calls of $1 → $20 staked, $17.90 Prize Pool (89.5%) + $2 Boost (2+ real winners here) = $19.90. GOAL (locked 20%) wins with 1 Call and CORNER (locked 50%) wins with 4: the $14.90 surplus splits 5-to-2 per dollar — the GOAL Call pays $6.73 (×6.73), each CORNER Call about $3.29 (×3.29). And if your Call Type is the ONLY one that fires, you take the whole pool. Cent leftovers from rounding always go to winners, never to the platform.
Are Pulse Calls final?
Yes. Each tap on a Call tile is a confirmed, binding entry: the amount is debited from your PA Wallet immediately, and a placed Call cannot be cancelled by you. A round settles once every event of that round is confirmed by the live data: most rounds settle within a minute, and when confirmation takes longer the round shows settling and pays in full once confirmed. Only a round that cannot be confirmed within 30 minutes of its close is cancelled, and a round cancelled by the platform is always refunded in full.
What are the Pulse limits?
Up to 5 distinct event types per user, per market, per round — re-stacking a type you already called stays open within the money caps. The responsible-use ceiling is 500 USDC per rolling 24 hours across all matches, raised to 9,990 USDC with identity verification.
Can I watch The Pulse without making Calls?
Yes. Watching the Pulse board is open. Making Calls requires an account, a funded balance, and your signed Pulse declaration.
What is the Golden Minute?
The first-goal windows: pick when the first goal of each half comes, up to three picks, before kickoff or at the break. The Pulse sleeps before kickoff and at half-time — the Golden Minute doesn't.
